A year ago, developers John Judge and Tom Truong arrived at the edges of a still solid real estate market with a lofty goal to go along with their plan to make money.

The pair would buy seven properties in Chelsea from the Catholic Church, convert them into as many as 85 stylish loft condos, and sell them at reasonable prices to first-time home buyers -- families and professionals pushed out of Boston's pricier real estate. (more...)

In addition to her responsibilities selling properties, Truong will also recruit, hire and train agents for the firm. Prior to joining Realty Direct, Truong was employed as a Realtor for a Framingham-based agency. The former co-owner of an environmentally safe dry-cleaning firm, her career experience also includes years spent in pharmaceutical sales. Truong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Realty Direct, a residential real estate discount brokerage firm, named Tom Truong president of its new Quincy office.  Truong will oversee cash back programs of up to 1.5 percent of the sales price and Realty Direct commissions of 3.99 percent.  His prior work experience includes having serviced as director of business for Amity Insurance and as CFO for three New England braches of a Chicago-based insurance carrier.
